Diamond Challenge Tip of the Week

by Charlie Wiegert

First Base

It starts with King Albert, the consensus number one pick in most leagues this year. And in the Diamond Challenge, you want him on your team. He’s the reason you save money at other positions, and he earns his keep. Plus, it’s fun to be able to tell people you have Albert Pujols on your team! It’s one of the reasons you play the Diamond Challenge, so don’t try to out think yourself! There are some other pricey home run options, but when you look at what you’ll get from Adrian Gonzalez (1330k), Joey Votto (1100k) and Kendry Morales (1170k), it’s not worth paying the higher salaries for Prince Fielder, Ryan Howard or Miguel Cabrera. Roster four of these first basemen and use two at DH, as you’ll get more bang for your buck than with any other position.

Over the next 8 weeks, the Godfather Of Fantasy Sports, Charlie Wiegert, is going to profile players that are worthy of consideration for your Diamond Challenge team this year. A different position will be examined each week. Enjoy and have a great season!
